The department of Ophthalmology has come a long way in providing quality eye care services to all sections of society, following the principle of treating the classes to serve the masses.

We provide comprehensive eye care under one roof.. Supported by a team of experienced and well trained ophthalmologists and top of the shelf equipments from world leaders like Carl Zeiss and Bausch and Lomb, the ophthalmology department delivers world class facilities to all sections of society. The Department has undergone extensive modernization to keep up technological advancements.

General Ophthalmology: - services are provided in the morning from 8:30am to 12:00 noon on all working days to all patients at nominal cost.

Specialty services: are provided in the afternoon hrs, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm  to patients whose disease condition demands further attention and care.

Private OPD: - services are provided from 2:00PM to 6:00PM on all working days to patients who want more comfort and convenience.

At present the following specialty clinic services are available from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

• Monday

Paediatric Ophthalmology & Oculoplasty clinic for various ophthalmic disorders of children and for the diseases of the eyelids, orbit and lacrimal sac.

• Tuesday & Wednesday :

Retina Clinic is equipped with latest Ziess digital fundus camera (visucam lite) for digitally storing & reproducing the data of retinal findings, perform real time Fundus Fluorescin Angiography (FFA) and immediate decision for the treatment options. Retinal photocoagulation is performed with Zeiss double frequency(s 532) Nd-YAG Laser. B scan ultrasound facility is also available for posterior segment disorders.

• Wednesday

Glaucoma Clinic is meant for patients suffering from different kinds of glaucoma requiring long

Follow up and critical decisions in treatment. This is equipped with Applanation tonometry, Digital funds imaging, Gonioscope, Automated field analyzer and laser treatment of Glaucoma.

• Thursday:

Squint Clinic is specially run for patients with Ocular alignment and motility disorders.

• Friday:

Cornea Clinic deals with difficult cases of corneal disorders which require more expertise in cornea to manage the disease conditions. We have the facility of Microbiological investigations, anterior segment digital photography and eye bank backup to facilitate Keratoplasty.

IN PATIENT SERVICES

Our new improved state of the art eye OT complex is well equipped with the latest machines to perform higher end surgeries. We have 3 operating tables with 3 Carl Ziess operating microscopes; 3 phaco machines: Appaswamy , Storz Protégé and Bauch & Laumb Millennium. With Bauch & Laumb Millennium phacosystem, we are able to perform state of the art surgeries like phacoemulsification & foldable Intraocular Lenses even under topical anesthesia.

Advanced Vitreo-retinal surgeries with oil & endolaser, all higher end Cornea, Glaucoma, Oculoplastly & Pediatric ocular surgeries are also being performed with best specialists.

There is an integrated ward with efficient staff, along with the eye OT Complex for the smooth patient movement and comfort.
